We may make changes

We may amend these Website Terms of Use from time to time. Every time you wish to use the site, please check these Website Terms of Use to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time. These terms were most recently updated on 17 September 2024.

We may update and change our site from time to time to reflect changes to our services, membership benefits, content and events/meetings, our users’ needs and our business priorities. 

We may transfer 

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Website Terms of Use to another organisation. We will always tell you in writing if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not affect your rights under these Website Terms of Use or any other contract you may have with us. 

User registration/account 

You may browse the site without registering for an account. However, to access certain features of the site such as content, access to digital services, events and/or meetings, you must register for an account and become a member. 

Your obligations:

  • If you choose, or are provided with a username, other user identification code, password, or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential and you must not disclose it to any third party. 
  • Your account username may not include the name of another person with the intent to impersonate that person, or be offensive, vulgar or obscene. 
  • Your account is personal to you. You may not transfer or sell access to your account or use another user’s account. 
  • You are responsible for the use of your username and password, and for all activities (including all purchases and contributions) that are conducted through your account. 
  • You will immediately notify us in writing if you discover any unauthorised use of your account or other account-related security breach. We may require you to change your username and/or password if we believe your account is no longer secure. 

We have the right to disable any account at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these Website Terms of Use. We will not be liable for any harm or loss related to disclosure of your username or password or the use by anyone else of your account.

Material on the site 

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in the site, in the material and content published on it and in the services provided via the site, including but not limited to any audio, video, text, photographs and other media and any trademarks. These are protected by copyright and trademark laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.  

You may print off copies, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from the site for your personal use only. You must not use any part of the content on the site for commercial purposes without obtaining a license to do so from us or our licensors. If you print off, copy, download, share or repost any part of the site in breach of these Website Terms of Use, your right to use the site will cease immediately (including your membership) and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made. 

No text or data mining, or web scraping 

You shall not conduct, facilitate, authorise or permit any text or data mining or web scraping in relation to our site or any services provided via, or in relation to, our site. This includes using (or permitting, authorising or attempting the use of):

  • Any "robot", "bot", "spider", "scraper" or other automated device, program, tool, algorithm, code, process or methodology to access, obtain, copy, monitor or republish any portion of the site or any data, content, information or services accessed via the same.
  • Any automated analytical technique aimed at analysing text and data in digital form to generate information which includes but is not limited to patterns, trends and correlations.

The provisions in this clause should be treated as an express reservation of our rights in this regard, including for the purposes of Article 4(3) of Digital Copyright Directive ((EU) 2019/790).

This clause shall not apply insofar as (but only to the extent that) we are unable to exclude or limit text or data mining or web scraping activity by contract under the laws which are applicable to us.

Where the site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, these links are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources. 

User generated content 

This site may include information and materials uploaded by other users of the site, including to social media pages, video-sharing site, bulletin boards and chat rooms. This information and these materials have not been verified or approved by us. The views expressed by other users on the site do not represent our views or values. 

If you become aware of any material that is illegal, inappropriate, vulgar or obscene, please contact us immediately. If you wish to complain about any other content, please contact us. 

Our responsibility for loss or damage 

Please note that we only provide our site for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our site for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity. 

We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, sub-contractors, or agents and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Different limitation and exclusions of liability may apply to liability arising as a result of the digital content or supply of any services to you as a member, which will be set out in our Membership Terms and Conditions.  

If defective digital content that we have supplied, damages a device or digital content belonging to you and this is caused by our failure to use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you compensation. 

Uploading content to the community

By using the site/community, you may have the opportunity to chat, contribute to, or participate in blogs, message boards, online forums, and other functionality, and to create, submit, post, display, transmit, perform, publish, distribute, or broadcast content and materials to us or on the Services, including but not limited to text, writings, video, audio, photographs, graphics, comments, suggestions, or personal information or other material (collectively, "Contributions"). Contributions may be viewable by other users of the site and through third-party websites or service providers. As such, any Contributions you transmit may be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.

You retain all of your ownership rights in your content, but you are required to grant us a limited licence to use, store and copy that content and to distribute and make it available to third parties, including after your subscription membership has terminated. 

You are solely responsible for securing and backing up your content.

When you create or make available any Contributions, you represent and warrant that your contributions: 

  • conform to the Code of Conduct 
  • are not false, inaccurate or misleading
  • do not contain unsolicited or unauthorised advertising, promotional material, pyramid schemes, chain letters, spam, mass mailings, or other forms of solicitation or advertising
  • could not incite a terrorist offence, solicit any person to participate in terrorist activities, provide instruction on any method or technique for committing a terrorist offence or threaten to commit a terrorist offence
  • are not inappropriate, obscene, violent, slanderous, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable (in our sole opinion) 
  • do not ridicule, mock, disparage, intimidate, or abuse us, any other user or any third party 
  • do not violate any applicable law, regulation, or rule 
  • do not violate the privacy or publicity rights of any other person or third party 

We have the right to remove any Contributions you make on the site if, in our opinion, your Contributions do not comply with the above. If you want to discuss any of your Contributions that we have taken down, please contact us. 

Our rights to use content uploaded to the site 

By posting Contributions to the site, you automatically grant, and you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant, to us a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable licence to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform and distribute such Contributions in connection with the service provided by the site and across different media including to promote the site or the service. 

We do not assert any ownership over your Contributions. You retain full ownership of all of your Contributions and any intellectual property rights, or other proprietary rights associated with your Contributions. We are not liable for any statements or representations in your Contributions provided by you. You are solely responsible for your Contributions, and you expressly waive any rights you have to bring legal action against us regarding your Contributions.

Viruses 

We do not guarantee that our site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses. You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programmes and platform to access our site. You should use your own virus protection software.

You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities, and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our site will cease immediately.

Linking to the site 

You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it. You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval, or endorsement on our part where none exists. You must not establish a link to our site in any website that is not owned by you.

Our site must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of our site other than the home page. We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice. If you wish to link to or make any use of content on the site other than that set out above, please contact us. 

Which country’s laws apply?

These Website Terms of Use, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English Law. You and we both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
